May 2009
One sunny Thursday, downstairs in Braes of Dundee, saw a dancer, 2 visual artists, a digital animator, an actor, a writer, a web developer and a designer come together and take part in a Collaborative Workshop for Common Turf.

The group was facilitated by Sandy Thomson – Artistic Director of Poorboy Theatre Company and Dundee and Tayside Adviser for Cultural Enterprise Office. Amongst other things, a large chocolate cake, several balloons, lots of drawings and an improvised play helped those attending explore issues around collaboration and will also inspire future Common Turf events and information resources for the Common Turf community.

April 2009
There are now 230 individuals and companies registered to be Turf pilots coming from across the creative industries, from all over Scotland. Based on the brilliant feedback from the questionnaire, you are looking forward to connecting and building your community. If you haven’t signed up for the pilot please do by registering your email above and also filling in the survey.

In early May a group of Turf Pilots are getting together in Dundee to play, scribble and chat about collaboration. You’ll see video posts, pictures and dialogue from this day on the pilot site when it goes live.

Feb 2009 - Become a Turf pilot
The website is now under redevelopment based on the invaluable feedback we had from the November 2008 testing group and will soon launch as a pilot phase. The pilot phase is an open call to individuals, companies, groups, organisations, galleries, bands, production companies - anyone involved in the creative and cultural industries.

Submit your email above and you will be contacted when the pilot phase is ready to launch. You will be invited to build your profile. This will give you the opportunity to post your projects and news stories onto the site and actively seek collaborations.

There will be a feedback widget on the pilot site for suggesting what tools you would like and any improvements you would like made - so you will become the architects of the Common Turf community.

Feb 2009 - How do you collaborate now?
Common Turf is looking for individuals and groups who already collaborate and would like to share their stories with others. If you are interested in taking part in Common Turf please fill in this online questionnaire about collaboration and we’ll get in touch and take the relationship further: click here to take the survey.

Nov 2008 - User testing @ Mono
A big thank you to the group of testers who met with Common Turf Project Coordinator, Sally Johnston, at Mono in November 2008. It was great to get so many perspectives on the website, your thoughts behind collaboration and your feelings about why you’d want to be involved. The feedback is being fed into the redevelopment.

Oct 2008 - Roxane Perman discusses collaboration
In this feature, Shetland-based visual artist Roxane Permar explores what makes for good collaboration. Based on her extensive and varied collaborative experiences, she poses some fundamental questions that could get you thinking on the benefits of this form of partnership.

Nov 2007- Real people and Common Turf
There have already been people from across the artistic community involved in the development of Common Turf. They are a mix of new graduates, fledgling companies and seasoned freelancers from across Scotland. They include: a film-maker, playwright, theatre director, social entrepreneur, communications & graphic designer, curator, musician, public & urban regeneration artist and a visual artist.
